At TYS Recruitment, we handle all complaints with utmost care and attention.
For complaints related to a breach of a seafarer’s contract while onboard a vessel, we encourage the crew member to utilize the onboard complaints procedure. Additionally, candidates can reach out to the following competent authorities at any point:
- The Management Company of the vessel
- The Designated Person Ashore (DPA) or individual responsible for crew welfare
- The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) at mlc@mcga.gov.uk
- The Competent Authority of the respective Flag State
- Their respective Seafarers Union
In cases where the complaint pertains to the actions of TYS Recruitment and its staff, we adhere to the following protocol:
- Initially, the recruitment agent associated with the complaint is contacted for a prompt resolution.
- If the complaint remains unresolved, it is escalated to the management team at TYS Recruitment.
- Should the seafarer find the resolution unsatisfactory, they have the option to refer the matter to a Competent Authority.
All complaints and the subsequent decisions are diligently recorded using the Complaints Reporting Form. Our aim is to address and resolve complaints within a timeframe of 14 days.
